“Unexpected Good” – DZI Launches a Nationwide Campaign with 80 Volunteer Missions Across Bulgaria
04 септември 2026
DZI has launched a nationwide volunteer campaign dedicated to the insurer’s 80th anniversary. “Unexpected Good” is a social impact project that will engage employees, agents, partners, customers, and local communities in implementing 80 volunteer initiatives across the country. Through these activities, Bulgaria’s longest continuously operating insurance company will further expand the meaning of its anniversary message, “If You Love It, Insure It,” by emphasizing empathy, social engagement, support, and care for what matters most.
"With ‘Unexpected Good,’ our goal is to reach more people and local communities and once again demonstrate that behind insurance there are people who are genuinely committed to helping society. Human connection, coming together around meaningful causes, and the care, kindness, and smiles we can bring to others are extremely important to us. I am proud that our employees contribute ideas with such enthusiasm and are eager to volunteer in the implementation of socially significant projects. As part of our anniversary celebrations, we have committed to carrying out at least 80 good deeds, but that does not mean we will stop there. Kindness is contagious, and unlike many things, it requires neither immunity nor restrictions," said Kosta Cholakov, Chief Executive Officer of DZI.
Among the activities planned under “Unexpected Good” are the renovation of public spaces, playgrounds, and schoolyards, the cleaning and greening of urban areas, as well as volunteer initiatives supporting people and vulnerable groups in need.
Symbolically, the first cause embraced with enthusiasm by DZI employees was supporting the residents of Strumyani in restoring normal life after the natural disaster that struck the municipality at the end of August. More than 15 DZI Agents of Good took part in volunteer efforts to clean the yards and homes of flood-affected families. On 3 September 2026, they spent the entire day working on-site in the village.
This will not be a one-off initiative. DZI and its employees have also expressed their intention to continue supporting the people of Strumyani in their recovery efforts by participating in the renovation and repair of damaged homes.
Through the initiative’s dedicated platform, Unexpected Good, citizens will be able to follow completed activities, join upcoming volunteer actions, and submit their own ideas for future missions of goodwill.
Among the campaign’s key priorities are communities in need of support, as well as places where even a small intervention can generate a significant positive impact on people’s lives. Beyond the Strumyani initiative, proposals already submitted include the renovation of playgrounds, repairs of community cultural centres and schools, and other projects aimed at improving local environments and strengthening community spirit.
