Unexpected Good in Action: 10 Volunteers Support the "Kitchen of Goodness" in Sofia

18 септември 2026

The latest volunteer initiative under the "Unexpected Good" program brought together 10 employees and agents from DZI and UBB at the "Kitchen of Goodness", located at the St. Prophet Elijah Church in the Druzhba district of Sofia.

Over the course of several hours, participants helped prepare food for people in need and supported the daily operations of the volunteers working in the kitchen.

During the initiative, volunteers prepared sandwiches and food packages for 350 people in need and processed more than 200 kilograms of vegetables, which will be used to prepare hot meals in the coming days.

The "Kitchen of Goodness" provides daily meals and support to dozens of vulnerable individuals. This is why every hour of volunteer work and every helping hand make a real difference to the community.

The initiative is part of the long-term "Unexpected Good" volunteer program, through which employees, agents and partners of DZI and UBB join forces to support various causes across the country. Its mission is to help people and communities in need through meaningful actions while promoting a culture of volunteering and civic engagement.

"Unexpected Good" continues to demonstrate that meaningful change begins with small but impactful actions. When people unite their time, effort and compassion, the result becomes much more than a statistic. It becomes hope, support and a stronger sense of community.

We would like to thank all volunteers who dedicated part of their personal time and transformed an ordinary Saturday into a day of solidarity, humanity and kindness.

Stay tuned for upcoming "Unexpected Good" missions and join our next volunteer initiatives. Together, we can reach even more people and create even more opportunities to make a positive difference.
