140 New Plants Turned a School Yard into a Greener Place to Learn

03 октомври 2026

The school yard of Acad. Nikola Obreshkov Specialized Mathematics High School in Burgas has become greener and more welcoming thanks to a joint volunteer initiative that brought together DZI’s Agents of Good, students, teachers, and parents. Together, they planted 140 new plants along the school fence, transforming the area into a more pleasant environment for learning, recreation, and social interaction.

The initiative is part of DZI’s corporate volunteering program, Unexpected Good, and is yet another example of how collective efforts can create meaningful and lasting change within local communities.

Throughout the day, students, teachers, parents, and volunteers worked side by side, preparing the ground and planting the new greenery. The participants not only enhanced the school environment but also created a valuable lesson in civic engagement, responsibility, and care for the world around us. For the students, it was an opportunity to see firsthand how a community can unite around a cause with a long-term impact. For everyone involved, it was a chance to leave behind something both beautiful and meaningful.

The newly planted greenery will continue to grow alongside the generations of students who pass through the school’s gates every day. It will contribute not only to the appearance of the school but also to a more comfortable, inspiring, and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the year.

Particularly inspiring was the involvement of the entire school community. Students, teachers, parents, and DZI volunteers shared a common goal and demonstrated that when people work together, even a simple idea can grow into a meaningful change with lasting value.

We would like to thank everyone who took part in the initiative and helped create a greener, more beautiful, and more inspiring place to learn. Because good deeds, just like plants, need care and commitment to grow and leave a lasting impact.
