Volunteers Revitalise the Area Around Dobrotitsa Sports Complex

15 октомври 2026

Every positive transformation of a public space begins with people willing to dedicate their time and effort to the benefit of others. This spirit was at the heart of a recent volunteer initiative in Dobrich, where employees and agents of DZI, together with colleagues from UBB, worked to improve the surroundings of the Dobrotitsa Sports Complex.

The initiative was part of the “Unexpected Goodness” programme, which encourages employees to support meaningful causes in their local communities. By focusing on a popular sports facility used by residents of all ages, the volunteers set out to create a more pleasant environment for everyone who visits the complex.

During the event, volunteers repainted benches, sections of the building, railings, flag poles and entrance features throughout the site. Their work improved multiple elements of the outdoor infrastructure and contributed to a cleaner, fresher and more welcoming appearance.

The sports complex is an important gathering place in the city. It hosts training sessions, competitions, recreational activities and community events. Every day, it welcomes athletes, families and visitors who use the facility for sport and leisure. Maintaining such spaces plays a vital role in supporting active lifestyles and strengthening community engagement.

The volunteer action demonstrated how collective effort can produce visible results in a relatively short time. Colleagues from different teams worked side by side, combining their skills and energy to complete the project. The atmosphere throughout the day reflected a shared commitment to making a positive contribution to the community.

Beyond the immediate improvements, the initiative sent an important message about civic responsibility. Public spaces belong to everyone, and their maintenance often depends not only on institutions but also on the willingness of local people and organisations to become involved.

By investing their time in this project, the volunteers helped create an environment that will continue to benefit local residents for years to come. The renewed appearance of the complex makes it a more attractive and welcoming place for sports, recreation and community activities.

The project in Dobrich demonstrates how volunteering can strengthen communities, build relationships and encourage others to contribute to the places they value most.
